Education is increasingly viewed as playing a critical role in advancing understanding about diverse worldviews and social cohesion in Australia and internationally. The education case study will identify and evaluate strategies utilised by teachers, parents, and key stakeholders in schools to respond to the cultural and religious diversity of their communities. Up to 40 interviews are being conducted with teachers, principals and parents from state, Catholic and independent schools in Hobart and Melbourne, and also with key state and community stakeholders involved in the provision of education about diverse cultures and religions in Tasmania and Victoria.
